Found in Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou and southeastern Yunnan provinces of China and Vietnam in broadleafed, evergreen, humid, primary forests in damp crevasses, on steep shady slopes in limestone karst regions at elevations of 500 to 1200 meters as a small to just large sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial or lithophyte with clustered, subconical pseudobulbs carrying 3 to 7, plicate, elliptic to ovate-lanceolate, dark green silver striped above, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, basal, to 24" [60 cm] long, several [10+] flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, glabrous, persistent floral bracts.
