Found in Sabah and Sarawak of Borneo in hill and lower montane forests at elevations of 700 to 1600 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with clustered, small pseudobulbs carrying 3 to 5, plicate, elliptic, acuminate, glabrous, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring through summer on an erect, peduncle terete, pubescent, rachis 1.4 to 6" [3.5 to 15 cm] long, moderately densely many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, spreading, reflexed at the tip, pubescent, persistent floral bracts.
