Common Name The Short Scaped Caladenia - The Short Spider Orchid

Flower Size 1.6 to 2" [4 to 5 cm]

Found in Victoria and Tasmania in heathlands and coastal shrubs at elevations around 5 to 50 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, linear, pubescent leaf that blooms in the earlier spring on a 1.2 to 6 " [3 to 15 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with scented flowers akin to an overheated elecric motor.

This orchid may be extinct as it has not been seen in several years in any of its known locations and it is not known to be cultivated. .
