Common Name Fitzgerald's Caldenia - Fitzgerald's Spider Orchid [Australian Orchid Enthusiast 1900's]

Flower Size 1.6 to 2" [3.5 to 5 cm]

Found in east central New South Wales Australia on grassy slopes and among shrubs in tall open forest at elevations of 300 to 1200 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with a single, long-pubescent, linear, obtuse, basally conduplicate and clasping leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, long-pubescent, 8 to 10" [12 to 25 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with 2 distant, acute, triangular bracts.
