Found in Java in primary forests at elevations of 1550 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with close set pseudobulbs carrying 3 to 4, plicate, dark green, shiny, lanceolate, acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the mid winter through mid spring on an axillary, 80" [2 meters] long, shortly pubescent, to 30 flowered inflorescence with recurved, linear, acute floral bracts
