Common Name or Meaning The Mount Kinabalu Calanthe [Mountain in Borneo]

Found in Borneo near Mount Kinabalu in lower montane oak/laurel, rarely hill forests at elevation of 900 to 2100 meters as a small sized, warm to cold growing terrestrial orchid with a few to several, plicate, elliptic, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer in situ on an erect, peduncle to 30" [75 cm] long, provided with several tubular sheathing bracts, rachis to 4" [10 cm] long, finely pubescent, overall 34" [85 cm] long, several to many flowered inflorescence with deciduous as the flowers open, lanceolate, acuminate, reflexed, spreading floral bracts and holding the orange yellow flowers towards the apex.
