Found in the Phillipines in montane forests at elevations of 600 to 1000 meters as a large sized, warm growing terrestrial with obscure pseudobulbs carrying very large, persistent, papery, flacid, oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, acute, elongate petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later fall and eary winter on a slightly shorter than the leaves, peduncle to 12.8 to 14.4" [32 to 36 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with floral bracts that fall as the flowers open.
