Common Name The Nankun Calanthe - In China Nan Kun Xia Ji Lan

Found in southern Guangdong province of China in shady places along valleys as a medium sized terrestrial with subglobose, small pseudobulbs carrying 2, not well developed at blooming, not deciduous, elliptic, abaxially densely puberulent, acuminate to acute, petiolate-like base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, axillary, to 22" [55 cm] long, densely puberulent, rachis to 1.6" [4 cm] long, usually to 6 to 7 flowered inflorescence with persistent narrowly lanceolate, sparsely puberulent, acuminate floral bracts carrying white flowers.
