Common Name The Undulate Calanthe

Flower Size .72 to .8" [1.8 to 2 cm] long

Found in Borneo in wet, sandy podosol forestsat elevations around 400 to 1000 meters as a large sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with a vertical, short, thick rhizome giving rise to stems carrying 4 to 6, plicate, dark green, narrowly elliptic, acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the 2 to 6" [5 to 15 cm] long, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, dark green, furfuraceous with dark brown, stellate hairs, peduncle to 6 to 13.6" [15 to 34 cm] long, several, imbricate bracts, rachis angular, sulcate, to 12 to 13.6" [30 to 34 cm] long, 18 to 27.2" [45 to 68 cm] long overall, densely 20 flowered inflorescence with narrowly elliptic, acute, upper bracts smaller, deciduous floral bracts.
