Common Name The Spotted Catasetum

Flower Size 2" and more [5 cm +]

Found in Mexico, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and Brazil occurring at sealevel to 1000 meters and as such is a large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte always occurring in coastal lowlands and always near watercourses with conical-fusiform, clustered, many noded pseudobulbs enveloped by several leaf-bearing sheaths carrying 3 to 5, oblanceolate, suberect to spreading, acute leaves that blooms in the summer and fall with [4 to 12] fragrant rye bread scented, fleshy flowers on an arching to suberect, to 2' [60 cm] long inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb and has ovate, pale green bracts.

This plant requires ample water, bright light and heat while in it's growth stage and needs only a short rest.
