Catasetum blepharochilum Schltr. 1920 SUBGENUS Catasetum SECTION Catasetum Drawing by Hoewhne

Photo?????? See below Photo by Gunter Gerlach and His Stanhopinae Website

Common Name The Hairy Fringed Lip Catasetum

Flower Size

Found in Colombia with pseudobulbs carrying erect, elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, plicate, gradually narrowing below into the base leaves that blooms on an erect, terete, 10" [25 cm] long, laxly 6 to 8 flowered inflorescence with patent, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.

CAUTION!!!!! The species in the photograph was found in Fr Guiana from which I can find no records of it's being from there, as all sources say endemic to Colombia and the only drawing has a fringed lip apex which this one does not, so please use with caution. The Drawing by Hoehne is much more correct.
