Found in Guyana, Fr Guiana, Surinam and Brazil in forests at higher elevations as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with oblong-fusiform pseudobulbs carrying deciduous, plicate, many nerved, oblong-lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, green basally grading to maroon towards the apex, 8 to 10 flowered inflorescence
