China, Korea, central and southerm Japan in montane, mixed pine and broadleafed forests cool to cold growing terrestrial species with sveral alternate, lanceolate, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the late spring on an erect, 4 to 6" long, several flowered, racemose inflorescence
