Found in southern Yunnan Province of China in forests on limestone at elevations around 1200 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing terrestrial with an almost vertical, fleshy rhizome becoming a short stem carrying 4 to 5, withered at blooming, lanceolate, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a terminal erect, pubescent, to 5.6" [14 cm] long, wit 2 to 3 sterile bracts, 1 to 5 flowered inflorescence.
