Found in eastern Madagascar in humid, medium elevation forests, seasonally dry, deciduous forests and humid evergreen forests in humus and detrius at elevations up to 1700 meters as a small sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with an erect, leafy stem carrying 4 to 5, withered by blooming leaves that blooms in the late winter through late summer on an erect, pubescent, several to many flowered inflorescence
