Common Name Bruennow's Chysis

Flower Size 1.2" [3 cm]

Found from Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru on tree trunks in shady, damp, wet, montane forests at elevations of 600 to 1600 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte that is with a creeping rhizome carrying slightly fusiform, pendant, cane-like pseudobulbs enveloped basally by distichous, foliaceous sheaths and carrying thin, deciduous, plicate, elliptic-ligulate, acute leaves and blooms in the spring and summer on a pendulous to arching, basal, short to 7 1/5" [18 cm], racemose, several flowered inflorescence arising on a maturing pseudobulb with ovate, acute, concave, as long as the ovary floral bracts.
