Common Name The Pingtung Bulbophyllum [A County in southern Taiwan] - In China Ping Dong Juan Ban Lan

Flower Size .6" [1.5 cm]

Found in southern Taiwan in broad leaved forests at elevations of 100 to 400 meters as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with 2 to 4" [5 to 10 cm] between each ovoid to narrowly ovoid, 3 to 5 ribbed pseudobulb carrying a single apical, erect, elliptic to narrowly oblong, leathery, obtuse and retuse apically, contracted below into the subsessile base leaf that blooms in the winter and spring on a basal, erect, stout, [5 to 15 cm] long, 2 to 4 flowered, umbellate inflorescence with 2 sheaths and lanceolate, acute floral bracts.

CAUTION I cannot see any obvious differences between this species and B wightii but most references point to a difference. I need a better photo of B wightii to be sure. It does seem that this species lip is pilose and that is not visible in the photo of B wightii.
