Found in Java as a low growing forest epiphyte in moist areas at elevations of 500 to 1600 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing, monopodial epiphyte with a pendulous, leafy in the apical half, robust stem carrying narrowly lanceolate, thickly fleshy, slightly subulate, minutely oblique apically with a central spike that blooms in the fall on an axillary, pendulous, 4 to 10" [10 to 25 cm] long, racemose,successively 1 to 4, many flowered inflorescence with ovate floral bracts and carries sequential blooming flowers, opening over 2 to 3 days.
