Found in Borneo in hill, lower and upper montane forests on ridges at elevations of 600 to 2700 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte or terrestrial in open scrub with close set, subglabrous, rounded pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical lanceolate, acuminate-mucronate, coriaceous, plicate, 7 nerved, gradually narrowing into the smooth, round petiolate, base leaf and blooms in the spring on a erect, stiff, to 16" [to 40 cm] long, 6 to 8 flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb with persistent floral bracts and successive opening flowers..
