Common Name or Meaning The Kali Coelogyne [A Malaysian Town]

Found in the pennisular Malaysia in montane forests on shrubs, tree trunks and large branches at elevations of 1650 to 2000 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte or occasional terrestrial on moss with close set, ovoid, distinctly 3 ridged pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, narrowly elliptic to lanceolate, coriaceous, plicate, 7 to 9 nerved, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on a heteranthous, arching to pendulous, slightly fractiflex, 3.2 to 12" [8 to 30 cm] long, 4 to 12 flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb and has persistent floral bracts and carries simultaneously opening flowers.
