Found in central and southeastern New Caledonia in rainforests or scrublands as a medium to large sized, warm to cool growing mycoheterotrophic orchid growing on fallen rotting trees at elevations of 500 to 1500 meters with a single, narrow to regular, linear leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on an erect, terminal, 14 to 24" [35 to 60 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence.
