Found in Venezuela, Brazil and Peru as a large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte in lowland wet montane forests with elongate, ovoid, rugose, psuedobulbs carrying 2 apical, plicate, narrowly elliptical, acute leaves that blooms on a basal, pendant, few flowered, racemose inflorescence arising from a mature pseudobulb and is held well below the plant with, large extremely fragrant flowers.
