Found in Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Fr Guiana, Surinam, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia at elevations of 30 to 900 meters in shaded, very humid forests as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte without pseudobulbs and having imbricate leaf-sheaths and articulate, oblanceolate leaves and blooms in the winter through early summer on an axillary, 10 to 11" [25 to 27.5 cm] long, pendant, many flowered inflorescence.
