Common Name The Beautiful Leafed Cyclopogon
Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]
Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil and Argentina at elevations around 900 meters as a small sized, cool to ocld growing terrestrial with a few basal, dark green 2 to 3 striped light green, ovate, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, to 16" [to 40 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute, spaced bracts and shorter than the ovary floral bracts
"Distinguished by elliptical, dark green leaves with 3 white stripes in a longitudinal direction. The rachis is several flowers and the relatively small flowers only have short glandular hairs at the base of the ovary, and at the base of the sepals are basally sparsely hairs, almost glabrous. The lip is elongated, slightly widened in the middle and then again widened towards the front into an obovate-cordate, emarginate blade." Hoehne 1945
