Common Name or Meaning The Taquarembo Cyclopogon [A town in Uruguay]

Found in Rio Grande Do Sul state of Brazil and Uruguay as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a basal rosette, 6 to 8, erect-patent, oblong-lanceolate, acute, subsessile below into the base leaves that blooms in the winter on a terminal, erect, peduncle 6.7 to 9.2" [16.4 to 23 cm] long , provided with a few basal sheathing bracts, long pilose, rachis to 3.6 to 4" [9 to 10 cm] long, successively many flowered inflorescence with erect, pale green, rigid, concave, acuminate, trilineate, longer htan the ovary floral bracts.
"Closely related to Cyclopogon longibracteatus but C taquaremboensis has a more compact habit with shorter, more elliptical, barely distinctly petiolate base leaves anda more densely hairy inflorescence. The lip is more concave and less constricted in the middle that in C longibracteatus and the anterior lobe is significantly broadened and the apex of the lip is distinctly tri-lobed." Schlechter 1920
