Common Name Farges' Cypripedium [French Missionary and Orchid Enthusiast in China late 1800's] - In China Mao Ban Shao Lan

Flower Size 1.5 to 2" [3.75 cm to 5 cm]

Found in Hubei and eastern Sichuan provinces of China in humus rich places within thickets, open forests and grassy places at elevations of 1900 to 3200 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with 2, ovate, light green, red spotted, plicate, obtuse leaves that blooms in the spring on a terminal, erect, short, single flowered inflorescence.

This orchid is closely related to C margaritaceum.
