Found in New Guinea at elevations around 700 meters as a large sized, warm growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to simple, subterete stems carrying many, erect-patent, glabrous, lanceolate-ligulate, obtuse and unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the fall on a short, 2 flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are cream-colored with an orange keel on the lip and an orange red spot on the column foot.
