Common Name The Two-Tailed Dendrobium
Flower Size 2" [5 cm]
Found in the Mollucas and the Celebes as a medium sized, hot to warm growing lithophyte on rocks from sea level to 1000 meters with clustered, cane-like pseudobulbs that are swollen in the middle carrying many lanceolate, suberect leaves that blooms on a axillary, 3 to 6" [8 to 15 cm] long, usually racemose inflorescence often 2 or more arising from the nodes near the apex of the pseudobulb with 1 to 3 flowers that blooms in the fall and winter with an occasional spring and summer blooming following. Mounting on tre fern or cork is best to accomodate the pendant growth habit but a well draining medium may be used in a pot with a lessening of water in the winter months but enough to keep them from drying out completely.
