Found in New Guinea on trees in forests at elevations around 1200 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to simple, subflexuous, densely leafy stems carrying erect-patent, linear, acute leaves that blooms in the fall on a very short, 4 to 7 flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are pale rose red, the mentum scarlet red, the ovary violet, and the lip is cinnabar red towards the apex.
