Found in Hainan province of China in open montane forests on tree trunks or on rocks in mountain valleys at elevations around 300 to 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an erect to decumbent, branched or not stem enveloped completely by imbricate leaf sheaths and carrying distichous, ascending, densely telescopic, laterally compressed, shortly sword-shaped, thickly fleshy leaves that blooms on often subterminal, about .4" [1 cm] long, successively single flowered inflorescence with broadly ovate, membraneous, acute floral bracts and carrying, spreading, thickly fleshy flowers.
