Flower Size to 2.8" [to 7 cm]
Found throughout the western Himalayas, Eastern Himalayas, Assam, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanamar, Thailand, Laos, southern China, Vietnam and Taiwan as a medium to large sized epiphyte or lithophyte at elevations of 1000 to 2150 meters sometimes in sandy gulches on south faces of rocks with thin, erect, sulcate with age, basally swollen pseudobulbs carrying several, oblong to lanceolate leaves that are notched apically that blooms in the spring and early summer on a 3" [7.5 cm] long, few flowered, pendulous inflorescence arising on last years canes with 4 to 6, beautiful, fragrant, glossy, short lived flowers.
