Common Name Comber's Dendrobium [Scottish Botanist in Sumatra late 1900's]

Flower Size .44" [1.1 cm]

Found in Sumatra in ridge top heath forestsat elevations around 1500 to 2350 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with crowded, leafy in the distal half, erect, thin, green brown to yellow, often suffused with maroon or purple canes carrying towards the apex, few, green suffused with purple, lanceolate, ovate to oval, attenuate to acute, soon deciduous leaves that blooms in the spring on a suberect to horizontal, .8" [2 cm] long, simultaneously 1 to 5 flowered inflorescence arising on leafless canes with ovate to triangular floral bract

Said to be synomonous with Dendrobium pedicellatum J.J.Sm. 1908 by Kew but I await further verification. Seems to me that this one blooms in the spring on leafless canes and D pedicellatum blooms in the winter and fall on leafy canes. I am not sure if there are distinct floral differences as I do not have good enough photos to ascertain similarities or distinctions, so please use with caution!!!!
