Common Name The Notched Leaf Dendrobium

Found only in western New Guinea [Irian Jaya] in alpine grasslands on mossy rocks and shrubs at elevations of 2800 to 3450 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial or occasional epiphyte with slender, erect to pendent, usually branching stems carrying many, lengthwise folded, lanceolate, dark red purple to dark green, crenate margined leaves that blooms at most any time of the year on lateral, short, 1 to 4 flowered inflorescence arising on leafless canes
