Found in Borneo near Mt Kinabalu in hill forests at elevations around 200 to 700 meters as a giant sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with strongly ribbed, leafy canes carrying coriaceous, oblong to oblong-elliptic, shallowly, obtusely, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms more or less continually, on several to many per cane, all along the cane, lateral, single flowered inflorescence with ovate to triangular-ovate, acute, pale green with a yellow mid nerve floral bracts.
Distinguished from D uniflorum by the broader leaves, erect, concave lip side lobes and the details of the keel type on the disc.
