Common Name Datin Connie Wong's Dendrobium [director of Natural History Publications in Borneo current]
Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]
Found in Sabah Borneo probably in hill or lower montane forests at elevations of 500 to 800 meters as a large sized, warm growing epiphyte with 6 or so clustered stems carrying a few towards the apex, narrowly elliptic, slightly oblique, acute to acuminate apically, shortly attenuate and cuneate basally leaves that blooms in the winter? on a purple, .8 to 1" [2 to 2.5 cm] long 3 to 5 flowered inflorescence arising on the apical portion of a leafless stem with ovate, acute, translucent, purple spotted floral bracts.
CAUTION Kew puts this species as a synonym of D serena-alexianum and they are similar but it seems that there are differences in the lip so I leave them separate at this time pending more references. If they are synomonous then D serena-alexianum takes precedence.
