Found in New Caledonia along mountain foot paths in the litter found on the border of humid forests at elevations of 700 to 1000 meters as a giant sized, warm growing terrestrial with bamboo-like, sometimes branching stems carrying many, all along the stem, brownish to olive green leaves that blooms in the later spring and earlier summer on a long, 6 to 15 flowered inflorescence.
