Common Name Gravenhorst's Dendrochilum [Dutch Original collector of species 1900's]

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in Borneo in kerangas forests on very wet sandy soils at elevations of 100 to 1000 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, hot to warm gowing terretrial or epiphyte with .52 to 1.6" [1.3 to 4.5 cm] between each fusiform, often at an angle to the rhizome pseudobulbs carrying a single, apcial, erect, linear, ligulate, obtuse to acute, rigid, coriaceous, 5 main nerved, glossy green, cuneate and canaliculate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a gently decurved, peduncle erect to porrect, .4 to .8" [1 to 2 cm] long, rachis quadrangular, arcuate, 1.6 to 3.2" [4 to 8 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence carrying sweetly scented flowers.

Distinguished from others in the section by its unusually ornate lip.
