Found in Sumatra at elevations around 750 to 1800 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a very short rhizome giving rise to close set, cylindrical-conical, gradually narrowing towards the apex pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, more or less erect, coriaceous, lanceolate-elliptic, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on a thin, basally erect arching above, arising at the same time as the leaves, peduncle naked, glabrous, to 4" [10 cm] long, rachis to 8" [20 cm] long, 15 to 25 flowered inflorescence with spreading, lanceolate-elliptic floral bracts.
