Common Name The Sulfer Yellow Dendrochilum

Flower Size

Found in western Sumatra at elevations around 1250 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool growing epiphyte with a thick, branching, pendulous rhizome giving rise to cylindrical, basally thickened, yellowish pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, lanceolate, acute to bidentate, broad in the middle, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect, 4 to 6" [10 to 15 cm] long, flowers from the base, many flowered inflorescence with ovate, acuminate to apiculate, as long as the ovary floral bracts.

Schlechter stated that this species was quite distinct because of its very small lip in proportion to the rest of the flower.
