Found in Sumatra and western Java in montane forests at elevations around 1346 to 1520 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome with 2 to 3.2" [5 to 8 cm] between each, more or less terete pseudubulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, ovate-lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on a terminal, arising on fully developed pseudobulbs, peduncle, 2.4" [6 cm] long, rachis, to 6.4" [16 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence
