Found only in the Philippines in montane forests at elevations around 500 to 700 meters as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with narrowly pear-shaped, close set, tapering above pseudpbulbs enveloped in youth by tubular sheaths, soon evanescent carrying a single, apical, erect, oblong-lanceolate, leathery, acute, marginal vein prominent, petiolate base leaf that blooms on a downward bent, slender, 4.8" to 6.4" [12 to 16 cm] long, 2 ranked many flowered inflorescence with persitent, chaff-like, imbricate, obtuse floral bracts.
CAUTION This species, D covallariaeforme and D ecallosum are all very similar and I cannot separate them as I personally have no good drawings to go by, so please use with caution the determination above. I await better references.
