Found on Mindanao within the Philippines approximately between 1,000 to 1,200 meters among mosses on the trunks and branches of trees under shaded to slightly lit conditions in montane broad leaf forest.as a miniature sized epiphyte with fusiform pseudubulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, linear, leathery, acute, narrowing below into the distinctly channeled, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect to slightly curved, synanthous, peduncle very slender, terete, 2.88 to 3.36" [7.2 to 8.4cm] long, finely and sparsely setose, rachis nodding to pendent, quadrangular, 1" [2.5 cm] long, distichously alternating, 10 to 12 flowered inflorescence with persistent, glumaceous, lanceolate-elliptic, acuminate floral bracts.

Similar to D flexuosum but D warrenii differs in the longer and narrower leaf, the linear-lanceolate, acute petals, the longer lip which is widest in the middle and its basal stelida that are subequal to the column.
