Found in Sulawesi and the Moluccas at elevations of sea level to 100 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with spindle shaped, swollen basally for a few nodes, ridged, yellow with age stems that can branch, carrying many, fleshy apically bilobed leaves that blooms in the spring on many very short, single flowered inflorescence arising all along the stem and carrying fragrant flowers.
