Found in New Guinea at elevations around 900 meters as a small to medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to simple, slightly compressed stems carrying many, erect-patent to subpatent, glabrous, lanceolate, acute, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the fall on lateral, compressed, short, 2 flowered inflorescence.
Schlechter states that the flowers are whitish red spotted on the outside and yellowish inside.
