Found in New Guinea at elevations around 2000 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to strict, slightly compressed densely leafy stems carrying erect, glabrous, linear-ligulate, unequally and obtusely bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the winter on an axillary, short, compressed, subsessile 2 flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are reddish.
