Found in southcentral Sichuan, eastern Hunan, Hubei and Henan provinces of China on rocks in mountain valleys at elevations of 1200 to 2000 meters as a miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with cylindric, slightly upcurved, unbranched, several noded stems carrying 2 to 4, alternate, oblong-lanceolate, subleathery, decurrent basally into the clasping sheaths, obtuse and slightly hooked apically leaves that blooms in the spring on a .4 to .8" lon, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence arising on leafless stems with 3 to 4 basal bracts and pale white, ovate-triangular, acute floral bracts and carrying spreading flowers.
