Common Name The Pendent Dendrobium
Flower Size 1 1/2" to 2 1/2" [3.75 to 6.25 cm]
A pendant, small to large sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte that occurs in Papua and New Guinea at 2000 to 2850 meters on mossy pandanus trees with basally slender, clavate above, sulcate with age pseudobulbs carrying 1 to 3, ovate-elliptic to lanceolate leaves that blooms on a pendant, short to 7" [to 17.5 cm], axillary, racemose, few to several [3 to 12] flowered inflorescence that arises from the apex of the mature leafed cane occuring in late summer and has long lasting flowers that may or may not open well.
A slight, short winter rest is beneficial for summer blooming.
