Found in Thailand, penninsular Malaysia and Sumatra at elevations around 1000 to 1700 meters as a medium to large sized, cool growing epiphyte with spotted, almost globose becoming narrow above, then thickened and fleshy and becoming narrow and cylindrical near the apex stem carrying many, linear-lanceolate, strongly acuminate leaves that blooms in the late spring on a short, 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence arising from near the apex of the stem
