Found in the Cook Islands, the Santa Cruz Islands and the Tubuai Islands in rainforests at elevations below 500 meters as a large sized, hot growing epiphyte with clustered, terete, pendent, light brown stems carrying thick, ovate-lanceolate, obtuse, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the winter on a short, axillary, 2 flowered inflorescence
