Found in southeastern Sumatra in montane and secondary forests as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with clustered, grooved, terete stems carrying narrow, purple beneath in youth, deciduous leaves that blooms in the summer on short, descending, single to 2 flowered inflorescence arising on leafless stems
